As a response to the State of the Church report (read it here!), the congregation is invited to share their dreams and their vision of where God is calling WSUMC as we look into the future. The responses below were shared by the congregation on Sunday, August 20 as a part of worship. They are offered here with few edits and no commentary.   • Find ways to reach the most vulnerable in our community, and those that can be helped with our outreach

  • Working toward social justice and equality
  • Lead WSUMC to be the heart of the community: be more involved in the lives of the community. Have WSUMC show up all over the community everywhere. Be the peace and love of Christ to everyone.
  • Housing and food for the homeless; money for the poor.
  • Making a place for refugees and immigrants; creating space for everyone regardless of national origin, religion, race, language, or ethnicity
  • Continue offering great music in worship, like that shared today by Michelle Lau and Christine Hagan
  • Old style church retreat – a weekend with worship, fellowship, community and connection (and s’mores!)
  • Work with other churches and organizations to get Open Table breakfast offered 7 days a week
  • Monthly coffee house with music, stories, and poetry
  • Weekly prayer service in the evening
  • Joint fellowship with Downtown Baptist & Roberts Memorial UMC
