Washington Street United Methodist Church Preschool accepts families of all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. As a church sponsored program, Christian traditions are emphasized. However, our program also celebrates other cultural and religious traditions. By sharing customs, ideas, traditions, and meanings, we help promote understanding and acceptance. Families already in our program must re-enroll their children each year. Currently enrolled children and their siblings are given priority in our program for the next school term as long as they abide by all enrollment policies. Preference is also given to WSUMC affiliated families. All other families are admitted as space is available and if necessary, by lottery. Please see our Admission Policy, located in the Current News and Activities tab, for more details. Enrollment Applications will be accepted beginning each December for the upcoming school year and held on file until placement.

Applications are welcome beyond December as children will be placed as space is available.  A $65.00 non-refundable application fee must accompany each application for enrollment. An Open House is scheduled annually in December and January during which classrooms are open to prospective parents and applications may be submitted.  School tours are scheduled by appointment throughout the school year. Washington Street UMC Preschool  is committed to meeting the needs of each enrolled child, and as such welcomes applications of children with mild disabilities. To discern whether WSUMCP might be an appropriate placement for your child with special needs, please schedule a meeting with the Director to discuss your specific situation when applying for enrollment. Enrollment of children with special needs will be considered on a case-by-case basis to assure proper placement.  In order to provide the best possible preschool experience for each student, accommodations for children with special needs will be made in consultation with the family and any appropriate medical and/or educational intervention personnel working with the child. Families who believe they may benefit from financial aid should also speak with the Director.
