WSUMC has launched Alexandria’s only walk-in breakfast program, Sara’s Open Table. Monday mornings from 6:00-8:00 a.m., we serve hot coffee and bagged meals to anyone who is hungry. We start setting up on Sundays at 11:10 p.m. right after services in the Narthex; Monday set up begins at 5:50 a.m. with serving starting at 6:00 a.m. Volunteers set up, purchase food, hand out meals, greet our guests, and help clean up until around 8:15 a.m. Prayers and donations are welcome and encouraged as well!  For more information or to volunteer, contact Rachel Miller.

You may go to www.amazon.com and search the wish lists for Washington Street UMC.

Containers are set up for our guests to select hygiene items. You may bring donations (new and un-opened items) to these bins: socks, chap-stick with SPF, travel size sunscreen, toothpaste & toothbrushes, feminine products, travel size sanitizing wipes, shampoo, conditioner, bars of soap, lotion and deodorant.

Food items needed: individual cereal boxes; individual juice drinks; individual snacks (boxed raisins or other dried fruits, fruit cups, applesauce, granola bars); oatmeal packets.
