Worship at WSUMC

Washington Street UMC is offering in-person worship. For those who can not or choose not to worship in-person, we will continue to offer an online service at WSUMC.LIVE.

Welcome to Worship

Worship is held each Sunday morning at 10:00a.m, and offers a place of invitation to encounter the love of God in community. We are offering in-person and online worship.

During worship, we offer songs, prayers, scripture readings, and the sacraments of communion and baptism as ways of sharing together as God’s beloved. Worship includes a variety of music styles, and invites you to come as you are. You can dress casual or in a suit and tie. All are welcome.

Nursery care is available every Sunday for infants to 5 year olds, though all children are invited to attend and participate in worship. There are activity bags available for children to use during worship if desired, along with a quiet play area and nursing station in the balcony.

Location & Parking

The church is located just off the corner of King St. and Washington St. at 109 S. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria. Street parking is free on Sundays with no time limit. Paid Parking is also available at a couple of local parking garages, including the Alfred Street Garage, located at 117 N. Alfred Street, and the Courthouse Garage, located at 111 S. Pitt Street (both require a 3-block walk).

Accessibility

For those with accessibility needs, handicap parking spaces are available on Washington Street in front of the church. There is an elevator available to access the sanctuary, which is located on the top floor of the church.

There are three steps into the church building, but a ramp is available to make the front door more accessible.
